Colman Nominated for Tanzania Emerging Youth Award

Kyaro's founder at the tanzania emerging youth award ceremony

This August, Kyaro’s founder Colman Ndetembea was nominated for a Tanzanian Emerging Youth Award! Tanzanian Emerging Youth Awards recognizes young people between 15 and 35 for their outstanding contribution to industrial, environmental, or social initiatives in Tanzania.

Colman was nominated for the award for innovation in the technology and digital sector. We attended the award ceremony in Dar Es Salaam this past weekend, and got the opportunity to meet some truly incredible people. There was an entrepreneur who invented a way to manufacture chalk that minimized health hazards, a teacher working on helping more girls access education, and even a farmer who found innovative and yield increasing methods to cultivate avocados. Although we didn’t leave that night with an award, the chance to connect with other young entrepreneurs and learn about their newest endeavors made it well worth attending.

Special thank you to African Youth Transformation and event partners for hosting and organizing the award program, and congratulations to all the atendees who were nominated for or received an award that night! Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for Colman during the voting process!
