Kyaro is Now A Fiscal Sponsorship Program of the Marion Institute
This week, Kyaro Assistive Tech finalized a partnership with the Marion Institute as one of its Greenhouse Initiatives. The Marion Institute is an American non-profit focused on building healthy, equitable communities worldwide. One of their programs is fiscally sponsoring international projects, which they call Greenhouse Initiatives.
Fiscal sponsorship is a type of relationship between an American and international nonprofit that allows the international program to collect tax-deductible donations from American donors. This means that from now on, any donations made by Americans to Kyaro are still tax-deductible, even though we are registered in Tanzania. This is a great step forward for our organization and will open up many funding possibilities for us in the coming months.
We are honored to be counted among other notable Greenhouse Initiative programs such as the Green Belt Movement, led by Nobel laureate Wangari Maathai, that works to empower communities to conserve the environment and improve livelihoods across Africa.
As always, donations will allow us to reach people who can’t afford to pay for the devices they need, and build our capacity to make better, more affordable devices in the future. If you would like to support our mission, there has never been a better time to donate. Please visit our brand new landing page here.
